workshop (Tuesday 22nd)

Work start differently yestersday, we had to attend a workshop at knowledge commons. initially I thought it was going to be a waste of time but the knowledge creation guys really know what they are doing, few minutes into the workshop i gained interest.
The activities were so interesting, building and educative. I'v found ways to describe myself, and i also discovered things I didnt know i knew.

We were grouped rendomly and that helped us to interact and know each other well. after the workshop however, we had to go back to our little nests and work. work was so slow because we were tired and at the same time excited about the Bafana Bafana game.

we started with our report but we didnt get far beacause we didnt have enough time, it was already late. It was brought to our attention that we still have interviews to conduct, Eish. This fact raised problems because some of us have to work from Tuks and others at CSIR.

The snake named fluffy (modderfontein)

The trip to modderfontein was one of the interesting trips i'v had. we didnt know the directions so we were using the GPS, which was not unrealiable. It directed us to some wild place in the middle of nowhere. 80% of the time we had to ask people.

We eventually got to our destination by the grace of God. The people at Modderfontein CSIR are very interesting and welcoming. They were wiiling to share their information with us without any rush. Time was flying like an errow because we were having so much fun and learning in the process.

The moddernfontein group is very small so they were happy to see a bunch of young and fresh people showing up in their offices.we would like to go back but unforyunately we wont have another opportunity to do so:-(.

Then came lunch time...thats one thing I will not miss at modderfontein. we ordered chips and we got something that looks like chips, they dont taste good and they dont look good.

Finally :-)on our way to our pick up spot, I made a great dicovery, i picked up a snake skin, fresh snake skin. I call it fluffy. im going to keep fluffy for ever. thee end

go BIG or go dig/ shift

from the little expirience i gained, i have realised one important thing about CSIR culture, its either you do your work with your utmost effort, or you dont get paid. it was emphasised several times to us that we have to utilise the 8hours that we get "paid for" or else......

we had a meeting with the current interns yesterday, and it was eye opening and very interesting as they were telling us about their expirience at CSIR and they also told us what it takes to be part of this family and the procedures taken.

they mentioned something that i found very important. the shift from being a university student to be an employee at CSIR. there is a huge shif in behavior, attitude and responsibility. as an employee one has to be accountable for his actions, unlike assignments that students can choose not to do, objectives have to be reached in an organisation.every actions are enclosed by rules and regulation to ensure that objectives are met and that everyoune behaves accordingly to ensure uniformity.

for instance, lunch break is at 13:30 :-(, i usually eat my second lunch at that time.however, we managed to adapt to the CSIR culture and i'v seen some of my class mates attitudes are changing.

are we still suppose to feel it?

eish ya ne, bafana bafana really broke ma spirit last night, i'm glad i didn't buy the R700 jersey, im just wondering how the people who bought it must be feeling right now, but anyaway they still our boys and boys will always be boys, if they are winners they lways be winners and the opposite applies.

even if France draws against mexico im still not confident about the boys. judging from the way they were playing last night, i bet they ate the forbidden fruit, i mean they couldn't even run. if one wants to succeed in sports, they must become second hand virgins. take mike tyson for example, he wasnt eating the forbidden fruit for 5 years, thats why he was so victorious. now thats what i call dedication.

anyway, no one believed in Bafana so let us not lose it, lets just celebrate....uhm...let me see...what can we celebrate? ai...Anyway if you still have the air and your lips are still capable, and Of cause if you still feeling it, keep blowing them vuvuzelas. hahaha

its time to go back to our normal lives, and stop going crazy on fridays......

PS: feel it, it is gone hahaha...............its not funny!

The importance of information

Information is important for intelligent decision making in a democratic society.
